Welcome to Samurai radio
This radio exists since almost 4 years, after 8 years of a 1 hour weekly fm broadcast.
We talk about Japanese music and Japanese culture.
The two animators are Kurisu and Philippe, they are helped by other people and gests
because of the difference of time between France and America, you should listen to samurai radio with a +8/10h broadcast...
You can listen to several broacasts in French
* iki iki : news from Japanese culture about "yesterday and today of Japan"
* niji music : Japanese music : J-pop, J-rock..., interviews, concerts, news
* video-clip video-flop : let’s watch together j music videos from internet
* manganime : let’s talk about manga and anime
* karaoke karapaoke : we watch J-music karaoke video from internet and tell you what we think about it
* Ecoute ce disque (listen to that record) : let’s discover a J-music cd
* Focus chanson : let’s discover a J-music song (music, lyrics, singer's carrier...)
if you have any questions or request, don't hesitate to email us
and please see the 2012 schedule plan below

Re: Welcome to Samurai radio
Is it okay to recommend bands to you?
if yes then you really need to check out NEXTRADE (nextrade-web.com) -> They know ENGLISH.
Also check out 2 bullet and Vanished Empire 2bullet.net - vanished-empire.com <- They know English <- my friends
Also maybe REMNANT could be interesting for you. -> remnant.syncl.jp <- they understand a bit of English. But if I remember right then Marie knows good enough French. <- My friends.
They are not big bands. and band without a label. so maybe very interesting for your radio. Also more easy with copyrights. (^.-)

Re: Welcome to Samurai radio
I hope you like the bands
French Schedule is okay. (^.-)
Maybe I learn French a bit again thanks to your radio.
I forgot almost everything what I've learned at school.

Re: Welcome to Samurai radio
Can I recommend maybe one more band?
This one: http://artist.aremond.net/relia/
youtube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCRKH9wDxEctVDdVggCyjquw
Relia.
They have nothing released on CD yet. because they are a pretty new band.
But maybe you guys can get their music on the radio? Maybe in a niji musc special or something? by asking them?

hello
thanks for information
it sounds to be good visual
If the band is interrested to be promoted on our radio, no problem to get a single, and why not a RELIA's interview

Re: Welcome to Samurai radio
And truly check out Calmando Qual new mini-album -> http://open.spotify.com/album/4EOXaVxSIytdpoO0whyO2L
I really like the 3 new songs:
03. Nuritsubusareta Elegy
04. Gareki no Yume
06. CRY (not Kurai, it's CRY)
02. Zesshou is also a nice re-recording. I like it. but I didn't play it often yet.
05. Death song, I don't like the re-recording, I like the old versions way more (3 other versions).
And 2 SE's. They are actually way to short. I wouldn't mind if those where 3-5 min long without vocal.
01. -PsychO-
07. -PrayeR-
The songs are also getting better and better after playing them over and over again.
But I only have the 3 brand new songs in my playlist. Somehow for me it's more important to love them then the re-recording of Zesshou.

Re: Welcome to Samurai radio
Hello
thank you for link and information
there's still the question about the quality of a re-recording song
would it be better during a concert, a re-recording session or is it actually the original version the best ?
I let you answer to this question, but I consider the live version capture are not the best in general, too much noise, and a noise-catch witch is not always the best (samurai radio have several times catched Japanese bands live concert sessions... we know how it can be difficult to catch a good live session even if we use good materials)

Re: Welcome to Samurai radio
Zesshou? doesn't matter which version it will be. It's Calmando Qual. so that means always perfect.
The new version of Death Song. I don't know, but I think live version would be the best. at least the new version. the older versions doesn't matter.
You also have seen Calmando Qual and you should have noticed that the guys are professionals and that they have many knowledge of musical instruments and equipment.
Of course I did listen to the live of Dijon even if there is noise. I can hear clearly that they tuned everything perfectly. I don't know if you could hear the sound check?
But then you also can hear very good that they know what they doing.
But their live recored songs on videos always sound great. good audio quality. But I also think it's a matter of the live house and where you are standing to record the thing.
I already regret of not asking to Steff (boss of ASTAN-MAGAZIN) to tape the Calmando Qual gig in Utrecht and Cologne. Just for private use. (lol)
Calmando Qual is a special band. They know about quality. so they also give fans quality. no need to worry about such thing \(^0^)/

Re: Welcome to Samurai radio
Hello
you're right, their live in Dijon was pretty perfect, and it was one of the best rock gig I've ever heard in my samurai radio carrier.
talking about live versions, It's sometimes difficult for a band to sing and play (technical probleme, room resonance), that is what I meant
... I have a dvd of the famous singer Misia, what a beautiful concert, what a beautiful voice, but what a poor sound on the recording...
and talking about re-recordings, I was thinking about some artists (it's not the case of Calmando Qual of course) who places a new version of an old song to feed the tracks numbers of their last album...

Re: Welcome to Samurai radio
ah that way of re-recording. yes that's true.. look at Misaruka from Starwave Records. re-recording re-recording.... re-release. it's not interesting at all. because still the same members in the band who are not that talented at all. that's just taking the money of the fans.
But for bands like Calmando Qual with such big member swtich history. it's really interesting to listen to new versions.
But a true band can even give a great gig even if there are technical problems. Then they just need to switch to "Acoustic version"
In Utrecht Calmando Qual had a technical problem.. Kenkas bass amp(or something (small box to plug in the bass) died. or something did happened... It even did smelled burned. lol
Hibiki, Maya and Tak didn't notice that Kenka had problems... but after the notice they did do a small extra session. But Plunklock was there so Kenka could use the bass of the Plunklock member.
Also staff of the live house are very professional so I'm sure a solution would been found if there was no extra bass that day.
But they only played one more song. Because they could only play 12 songs that day.
I saw many jrock bands. But Calmando Qual is for me still the best. together with Guitar Wolf and LOUDNESS.

That's a pity. something truly went wrong I guess? but it happens sometimes.... I have a dvd of the famous singer Misia, what a beautiful concert, what a beautiful voice, but what a poor sound on the recording...
